வாருங்கள் வளமான சமுதாயத்தை உருவாக்குவோம் !!

வல்லரசு இநதியா... ஒவ்வொரு இந்தியனின் கனவு.. கனவு காணத்தான் சொன்னார்கள், செயல் படத்  தேவையில்லை என்ற தவறான நினைப்பு.. நிற்க.குற்றம் சொன்னது போதும். இருள் தான் என்று தெரிந்தும், என் அங்கேயே பார்வை செலுத்த வேண்டும்?  ஒளி தெரியும் பக்கம் திரும்புவோம்.தனி ஒருவனுக்கு உணவில்லையேல் , ஜகத்தினை அழித்திடுவோம்..  மஹா கவியின் வாக்கு..அன்ன சத்திரம் ஆயிரம் அமைப்பதை காட்டிலும் ஆங்கோர் ஏழைக்கு எழுத்தறிவித்தல் உயர்வு என்று சொன்னதும் அதே பாரதி தான்...வல்லரசாவது உச்சாணிக்கொம்பு... படி கட்டுகளில் ஒன்று  படிப்பறிவிப்பது..  கல்விக்கும் காசுக்கும் கை கோர்த்து விட்டு  படி கட்டுகளை தகர்த்துவிட்டால் உயர்வை அடைவது எப்படி? சமீபத்தில் வலைத்தளத்திலும் , சிலரின் மின்னஞ்சல் பெட்டிகளிலும் உலவிய ஒரு மின்னஞ்சல் சொல்லும் செய்தி:  இந்தியாவை அடிமை படுத்த இயலாத ஆங்கிலேயர்களுக்காக ,  மெக்காலே  தேர்ந்தெடுத்த கடைசி ஆயுதம் கல்விமுறை மாற்றம்.. அடிமைப்பட்டது இந்தியா..           இன்று நம் தலை விதியை நாமே எழுதிக்கொள்ளும் வாய்ப்பு இருந்தும் அடித்தல் திருத்தல்களாய் சில  தவறுகள், பல தப்புகள்... சாதி மற்றும்  பொருளாதாரத்தை ஆதாரமாக கொண்ட கல்வி முறை தான் வீழ்ச்சிக்கு சாட்சி. இளைய சமுதாயமான நமக்கு இதனை அழிக்கும் கடமை உண்டு, அழிக்க முடியவில்லை என்றால் கவலை வேண்டாம்..  எதிர்த்து போராட கை  கொடுப்போம், எந்த மாற்றமும் ஒரே நாளில் நிகழ்வதில்லை, ஆரம்பம் வேண்டும்.. தொடங்குவோம், பலர் தொடர்வார்கள்... சரி செய்ய நினைப்பவர்களுக்கு, பேசுபவர்களுக்கு  பாராட்டுகள்.. அதையும் தாண்டி முயற்சிப்பவர்களுக்கு சிரம் தாழ்ந்த நன்றிகளுடன் வாழ்த்துக்கள்.. சாதனை என்று பாராட்டு தேவை இல்லை.. கடமை என்று கை கொடுப்போம்..விதைகள் சிறிது தான்;மரத்தை ஒளித்து வைத்திருக்கின்றன.. கல் உருவமற்றது தான்;கண் கவரும் சிற்பங்களை தருகின்றன..விதைகளும் கற்களும் இறைந்து கிடக்கும் பூமி..விவசாயிகளும்  சிற்பிகளும் தேவை...சிற்பமாய்  இந்தியாவை செதுக்க முன் வந்திருக்கும்..சிற்பிகள்..அனைவருக்கும் அன்பு வணக்கங்கள் !!

Joining Hands with Payir and Dream India

After the registration of our Sirpighal Foundation as a registered organization, we did our first activity at a place called Thennur in Trichy District (25 kms from Trichy) on Oct 30th 2010.This activity was Organized by Payir Organisation and Dream India (the most well-reputed NGOs and personally greeted by our Dr.Abdul Kalam.) and we jointly did the project on that day.


Volunteers from both Dream India and Sirpighal Foundation (Gajendran and Ashwini from Sirpighal) started from Chennai on Oct 29th and reached the Thennur village on next day morning. Thennur, was a greenish and lush place wherein Mr.Senthil of Payir Organisation is running an Educational centre for the students.



The event for the whole day was planned and organized by Payir Organisation and its volunteers. Around 9 a.m the event started in the Middle school. Nearly 400 students (150 students – 1st to 5th ; 250 students- 6th to 10th) came from Thennur Primary & Middle school, Nathakaadu Middle school.



We started the day with Fancy Dress competition for 1st to 5th students followed by Elocution. Nearly 30 students gave eminent speech on various social topics and we selected the best among them. Around 1p.m, we organized to provide lunch for all the students and their parents.
Post lunch session was very interesting and the event of the day – DI Mega Quiz by using power point presentation and using LCD Projector. We gave exposure about these modern computer gadgets to the students in the remote village. Nearly 8 teams were shortlisted from prelims and they had 6 Rounds of Quiz which were really a test for their General Knowledge.

Then we had Cultural like Dance, Singing and Variety show in the evening followed by Inspirational speech by 104 age old Mr.Gurusamy ayya ,



a freedom fighter. Then we had prize distribution for the winners of all the events of the day and gave Certificates, Shields and Books sponsored by Dream India.
Sirpighal Foundation gave a book for “Easy learning of Grammar” (which will be in both Tamil & English for better understanding) for 250 students.



Special Thanks to Mr.Shankara Narayanan, Ms.Sowjanya and Mr.Nidyanandam of L&T-Chennai for sponsoring to give the books of worth Rs.6000 for the students.
Special thanks to Mr.Natarajan & Mr.Parthiban – Managing Trustees of Dream India & Mr.Senthil – Founder of Payir Organisation for giving this opportunity for us to join hands with them and support the day by Volunteering ourselves and made the students and their parents an enjoyable moment in a remote village which even lacks for electricity.

Meeting with Beneficiaries

As we all know, our job is not done with supporting the students financially. We have to stand behind until lay out a successful career. We should assist them in becoming responsible, productive citizens. So, a meeting has been arranged with the beneficiaries on Sep 12, 2010.

Our fellow sculptors spoke about "Whom we are","How Sirpighal has selected those individuals", "Criteria for supporting those students for rest of the course" and so on. They also gave a brief insight about the how the college life ahead will be, how to utilize this better and study better, Do's and Dont's and some best practices to follow.

After “Sirpighal Foundation” was born, this is our first activity. We have supported six students for continuing their Higher as well as primary education in this academic year 2010-11 so far.

Once the academic year started, applications have been received from many students who were in need of support. We formed a “Beneficiary verification group” which personally verified the details provided by the candidates as well the background of the students. Based on the team’s recommendation, the beneficiaries were selected and provided with financial support for continuing their education.

Sirpighal Foundation registered as a Trust!!

Sept-13th is the day of our foundation. We have registered our foundation under Trust Act in Thanjavur, TamilNadu. A Trust Deed was prepared and the Founder Trustee along with couple of Witness registered our trust by duly signing the "Trust Deed" in front of the Registrar.
